35 years ago, the great Ukrainian Vasyl Stus was killed in the punishment cell of the special regime concentration camp VS-389/36. The Soviet system destroyed the talented poet for his adherence to principles and love for Ukraine.
Vasily Stus spent two decades of his life in opposition to the occupation regime. As a man with a heightened sense of national dignity, he could not silently watch the anti-Ukrainian policy of Moscow. Therefore, the poet entered into an unequal struggle against the Kremlin empire.
Unlike many of his contemporaries, Vasyl Stus did not break down under the pressure of the system. Persecution and concentration camps only hardened his spirit. Until his last breath, Vasyl Stus remained loyal to his homeland.
Remembering the death of the outstanding poet and fighter for national freedom, we have no right to forget about the scoundrel who was involved in his murder. At the political trial of Stus, “lawyer” Medvedchuk actually acted as the second prosecutor. The current leader of the fifth column did everything to get Vasyl Stus in a concentration camp. The death of the poet is on Medvedchuk’s conscience.
I am sure that the day will come when Medvedchuk will pay for the murder of Stus and other crimes against the Ukrainian nation.
