With 22 cases of coronavirus detected last day in Mariupol, 19 are doctors of the regional intensive care hospital.
That means that out of 52 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Donetsk region, 27 patients are medical workers and 19 of them are from Mariupol.
And while the President’s Office reports that Ukraine is helping others, while the Ministry of Health assures that the Ukrainian doctors are fully protected and have all the necessary remedies, we see the situation in Mariupol.
De facto Mariupol is a city with martial law since 2014. Mariupol needs special conditions from the authorities and not only during the coronavirus pandemic. Mariupol hospitals need more wards, doctors need all PPE. Mariupol is the first line of defense. The first line of defense, despite the capitulation policy of the authorities, which maintains peace in Ukraine.
Now the front line fighters are threatened not only by the virus of Russian brotherhood, but also by the coronavirus. And if they protect us from the Russians, then the authorities must protect them from infection.
