With the current balance of power, one should not hope for positive progress in the war in the East through diplomatic negotiations. The leader of the National Corps Andriy Biletsky said this in the talk show “Right to Power”.
The problem with the negotiation process in both Poroshenko’s and Zelensky’s time is that there are real forces behind diplomacy. If Russia is many times superior to us in economic, military, geopolitical world weight, then, of course, it is a child’s dream that we will find a diplomat who, with bad cards in his hands, can do something. This is absurd, the politician said.
According to Biletsky, the main issue is the development and strengthening of the country from the inside.
If we develop conditional parity, that is, increase our own defense capabilities, we have a full-fledged economy, a more or less united country, social peace. If we develop deterrence components, at least minimal ones – missile forces, nuclear weapons. If we change the balance of power, then our negotiators may not have it in two months or even six months, they will have other cards in their hands, with which, of course, it is possible to revise the Minsk agreements, National Corps leader explained.
Otherwise, he added, it looks like a child’s belief in a miracle.
No president has expressed a strong desire to work seriously on this. And that is why we have either hurray-patriotic rhetoric or rhetoric of peace at any cost. We will walk in a circle until we start building our own forces, Biletsky stated.
