The power scenario of revolutions is the most natural and effective. Tonight we have received another confirmation of this simple truth. Lightning events took place in Kyrgyzstan after the unfair elections. In fact, in one night the people carried out a successful revolution. After attempts by the authorities to quell the protests, the protesters went on the offensive. People stormed the local White House, home to the presidential administration and parliament, and took control of the security service building. Already this morning, the authorities annulled the results of the rigged elections, fulfilling a key demand of the street.
Abstracting from the contradictory political realities of Kyrgyzstan, one should pay tribute to the lightning-fast actions of the local opposition. This is a clear example of a successful protest in a kleptocratic post-Soviet state. Not surprisingly, the hysteria over the “color revolution” in Kyrgyzstan is already beginning in Russia.
Let me remind you that in December 2013, events in Ukraine could also have unfolded according to a lightning scenario, without dozens killed and hundreds wounded. After the brutal beating of students, hundreds of thousands of determined citizens took to the streets of the capital. On December 1, my comrades from the Patriot of Ukraine stormed the Yanukovych administration. This day was the most favorable conditions for the rapid elimination of the bandit regime. However, the official opposition and the liberal public rejected revolutionary forms of struggle. They branded the nationalists provocateurs for their use of force on Bankova Street and set up the general Maidan for a so-called peaceful protest. Then the historic chance to overthrow Yanukovych without casualties was wasted.
It is very important that Ukrainians do not repeat the fatal mistakes of the Revolution of Dignity in the future. Examples of successful violent protests in Kyrgyzstan and ineffective peaceful demonstrations in Belarus convincingly show that it is the decisive actions of the street that are the key to the regime’s defeat.
