This was reported to representatives of the National Corps party in Konotop by locals.
The vandals deliberately damaged the state symbol on the memorial sign.
The nature of the damage is not exactly known, but the monument was allegedly damaged by traumatic gun. The motive for this crime is also not yet determined.
The representatives of the National Corps party have already filled the police report.
We also asked locals to help us in finding and identifying vandals.
The monument to Fighters for the freedom of Ukraine was installed in Konotop in June 2017 within the all-Ukrainian action “Memory of the Nation” of the National Corps party.
It remains the only memorable sign in Konotop, near which all the mass events to commemorate the fallen heroes are held.
Recently, a wave of brutal vandalism has been has been taking place in Ukraine in order to discredit the memory of the defenders of the country.
