Consideration of the scandalous Buzhansky’s bill on language, which should have been taken place today, was postponed to autumn. This was announced by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov.
The bill of the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” faction Maksym Buzhansky will deprive schoolchildren of the opportunity to master the state language.
Such an initiative met with resistance from Ukrainians, which escalated into protests in many Ukrainian cities. In Kyiv, in particular, activists have been picketing the Verkhovna Rada for the second day. Activists of the National Corps also joined the protests.
We are convinced that Buzhansky’s bill is equivalent to the famous Valuev circular and the Ems decree. Such initiatives are nothing more than part of Russia’s aggression aimed at destroying the Ukrainian state.
Postponement of consideration of the infamous bill shows that public resistance plays a huge role. Together we have shown that we will not allow our education to be Russified. The protests will definitely continue.
