Today, September 30, the Intermarium inter-factional association was established in the Verkhovna Rada, the purpose of which is to promote the project of the Union of the Baltic-Black Sea States in Ukrainian politics.
One of the goals of the association is also to include Ukraine in existing international initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation and integration of Ukraine into economic and defense initiatives of the region.
Svyatoslav Yurash, a deputy from the Servant of the People party, announced this on his Facebook page.
It is gratifying that despite the existence of the Intermarium Development Assistance Group, formed in 2016 by the leader of the National Corps and the first commander and founder of the Azov Regiment Andriy Biletsky, the project is finally attracting interest in the Verkhovna Rada.
Despite the fact that the initiative was supported by about 230 deputies, we want to believe that over time, Ukraine will also become one of the influential players in regional politics.
As a state that has been deterring Russian aggression and fighting terrorism for 7 years, Ukraine has something to offer its international partners.
It is important that the association does not remain another paper initiative, but becomes a real and working direction of Ukrainian politics.
