Today, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv held a hearing on the case of separatist Serhiy Syvokho and people’s deputy Maksym Buzhansky against veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, representatives of the National Corps party Serhiy Tamarin, Oleksandr Volkov and Yuriy Kaplia. More than a hundred representatives of the party and concerned citiznes came to court to support veteran volunteers.
At the hearing, the veterans’ lawyer Eduard Verbinets filed a motion to close the criminal proceedings for violating the terms of the investigation.
The investigation was conducted in violation of the two-month period. The investigation stopped, although investigators had such an opportunity, but did not use it. Only a week after the expiration of the term, materials were provided for review, which is a violation of the norms, he said.
The lawyer also added that he had filed a motion to return the indictment to the prosecutor because the document did not comply with the law. In particular, there are no victims in the indictment who were allegedly resisted by the suspects.
It should be noted that the next court hearing in the Pechersk court is scheduled for July 29.
