From the first day of the school year, under quarantine conditions, it became obvious that many Ukrainian schools were not provided with basic means of protection: antiseptics, protective shields or masks. The colossal funds allocated for the fight against coronavirus for educational institutions seem to have gone away, and the financial burden of providing everything necessary has fallen on the shoulders of parents and teachers.
Since the beginning of August, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science have made it clear that they will not take responsibility for infection in educational institutions, as well as providing participants in the educational process with basic means. In fact, the regional authorities became responsible for this, but within a month the officials failed to do everything so that every student or teacher could work and study according to quarantine standards.
The authorities have not actually prepared for this challenge, and it is still unknown who will be responsible for the coronavirus outbreaks. Today, the Minister of Education Scarlet says that education section was not given a penny to fight the pandemic, but in the spring the Ministry of Education and Science received UAH 4.9 billion for this. Teachers, parents and students are fed promises that everything will be in October. But it is obvious that the work has not been done on time.
