When Ilya Kiva is on TV, no one has taken it seriously for a long time. But when the “legislator” Kiva promotes the initiatives of his fellow pro-Russian revanchists, it becomes harmful to society.
He wants to recognize the “injured law enforcement officers” on the Maidan as a victim (Bill 3074). In fact, this document equates the status of wounded and dead participants in the Revolution of Dignity with representatives of the so-called law enforcement agencies, which actually killed people on Maidan. Moreover, the families of the Berkut who defended Yanukovych’s government can receive the same social guarantees as the families of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the families of the fallen participants in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
In an explanatory note, Kiva writes that the bill “will facilitate the proper assessment by the state of the actions of law enforcement officers who were injured during the implementation of measures to protect public order”. So, a proper assessment was given a long time ago. The police that went against the peaceful protest with weapons, which beat and maimed people with special cruelty and pleasure, deserved a just punishment, not social guarantees.

Tomorrow, the bill is to be considered by the main committee on social policy and protection of veterans’ rights. The issue is one of the first, and I, of course, hope for the common sense of the deputies. I hope that this topic will be closed in the parliament for a long time.
I want Ilya Kivа, his friends from the Opposition Platform and Shariy’s party to know that we will not allow them to turn everything upside down and justify the killers. Neither I nor my fellow men will forget what the “injured enforcement officers” were doing on the Maidan. There will be no tolerance and compassion for them, as there will be for you, traitors and revenge fighters.
