Serhiy Sternenko’s case is a case of self-defense. Everyone has the right to self-defense and, moreover, to the protection of their relatives and loved ones. That is why the National Corps and veterans of the Azov Regiment will come to support Sternenko if his case goes to court. The leader of the National Corps Andriy Biletsky announced on his YouTube channel.
At the same time, Biletsky noted that an active part of society and football fans should support everyone behind bars due to self-defense, and not make exceptions for media personalities.
If you are decent people, do not make Sternenko “the only patriot of Odesa”, but at least sometimes mention the truly heroic fallen Odesa citizens and football fans, who were among the Azov and members of the “Right Sector”, the leader of the National Corps said.
Biletsky called the names and call signs not so popular as Sternenko, but real patriots such as the fallen football fan Belaz and Odesa citizens Akela, Kutuz and Kozak.
Biletsky also reminded that dozens of imprisoned war veterans, including Sternenko, as a result of self-defense, are under the constant care of the Azov movement.
Take, for example, the Iranian’s case (Victor Panasko – ed.). The guy was on the Maidan from the first day and at the war from the first day. The hero of the “Right Sector”, who, unlike Sternenko, was not expelled from the Right Sector. In 2015, the Iranian came to rotate in Chernihiv, where his pregnant wife and he were attacked by unknowns. The Iranian defended himself and killed one of the attackers. All indications were that it was self-defense, but the veteran has been in prison for three years. And I didn’t see any “football player” who would come to him in court, Biletsky said.
The Iranian is unworthy of your support because he doesn’t have a promoted YouTube-channel?, Biletsky addressed to Sternenko’s defenders.
The leader of the National Corps argued everyone not to make heroes out of those who should not even be talked about and to help those who are worthy of attention and really need help.
