An all-Ukrainian action in support of the Kharkov prisoners took place in Kyiv and many cities of Ukraine today.
Hundreds of concerned Ukrainians, including veterans, volunteers, and civic activists, gathered in their city under the local police headquarters to support the arrested guys and protest against illegal law enforcement actions.
During a rally near the Interior Ministry building in Kyiv, National Corps lawyer Viktor Shendybylo said that police detained the guys in violation of the law and that their homes were searched without a court order. He also stressed that the law enforcement system is selective towards detainees.
“When Kiva and Medvedchuk form a new ” Oplot”, their gangs, which consist of hired titushky, former Berkut members, there are no questions about this activity,” he said.
Serhiy Tamarin, the head of the Kyiv branch of the National Corps, noted that among the so-called “victims” there are former anti-Maidan activists. He reminded that it was these bandits who in 2014 beat, tortured and killed Maidan activists and brought “Russian world” to Ukraine seven years ago.
“We remember very well what the Kharkiv Oplot Organisation evolved into: from ordinary titushky to the DNR tank battalion, and they continue to kill the defenders of Ukraine,” he said.
According to the head of the Kyiv branch of the National Corps, without adequate preventive actions by law enforcement agencies against pro-Russian elements, the country can expect the 2014 scenario to continue.
Participants of the all-Ukrainian action called for the release of Kharkiv patriots who defended Ukraine’s interests. Also in Kyiv, protesters appealed to the Interior Ministry to launch an investigation into the anti-government activities of pro-Russian Medvedchuk-Kiva’s gangs and went to the Prosecutor General’s Office, urging the agency to ensure a fair and transparent investigation of the arrested Kharkiv patriots.
