That’s what the leader of the National Corps party Andriy Biletsky stated on his Telegram-channel.
In late May, Foreign Minister Kuleba visited his colleague Siarto in Hungary. The one who declared “oppression of national minorities in Ukraine”. They met to “agree on compromises to overcome the crisis between the two states.”
Hungary’s rhetoric remains the same for many years. In matters of our laws and territories, we are dictated by conditions and pressured through international organizations. The maximum program is to create a Hungarian enclave in the west of Ukraine, no better than the Russian one in the east.
That’s what Kuleb agreed on in Budapest. After his visit, the Ministry of Community Development presented zoning projects in the regions of Ukraine. In Transcarpathia, they decided to form the Berehovo district with the majority of the Hungarian population. For decades, they traded to create a separate administrative unit in Transcarpathia. Zelensky’s government came to the aid of their Hungarian friends, without a shadow of a doubt sacrificing a piece of their territory.
And what in exchange? Bright headlines. “Breakthrough in relations with Hungary”, “President reconciled Ukraine with Hungary”. People will like it, right? This is what Zelensky needs. Exchange national interests for cheap PR.
