Congratulations on the sixth anniversary of the creation of the legendary Azov regiment!
On May 5, 2014, a powerful Ukrainian volunteer unit was founded. The backbone of the “Azov” was a few passionate idealists. Most of us did not have a single military experience, but we consciously, at the call of our hearts, chose the path of warriors. Therefore, we are responsible for the fate of Ukraine.
There were lot of trials, ranks and victories ahead. Having risen to defend Ukraine, the Azov volunteers immediately established themselves as first-class warriors, worthy successors of the military traditions of the nation. We liberated dozens of Ukrainian cities and villages from the invaders. Russians still tremble at the mere mention of the Azov Regiment.
For me, Azov is not just the strongest Ukrainian unit. This is a unique military community of aristocrats of the spirit, a family where fraternity and sacrifice reign. Today I want to thank each of Azov soldiers for their service. I am proud that I had the honor to fulfill a duty to the Motherland with you. Together we went a long way, overcame many obstacles.
